#6674 Bugle

I enjoyed your website. I was looking into a bugle that was passed down through my family. It is similar to your 8562 and has serial # 6674  according to family lore it was carried by my great grandfather in the civil war, but according to your timeline it was manufactured after 1870. It appears to be silver or pewter and is very beat up. When I was a child my mother used it to summon us home for dinner.Thanks for the information
