I'm Lionel and I live in Alsace in the east of France, close to the German and Swiss border. I bought on a flea market an old instrument which seems to be a ballad horn branded C. Missenharter Stuttgart, Medaille London 1862 Exposition Universelle.

It's in pretty good condition with a very few dents but unfortunately there is a missing slide and rotary valve with a broken control. The original mouthpiece that is there :-).

As I found it original because of it's shape and size I decided to buy it anyway.

Of course I did some basic researches on internet to get more information about this instrument and I found your website. The one I found seems to be of rather early manufacture, I thought you might be interested in seeing it and I would be glad to have any further information about it if you have (especially if it was built in Germany before the Missenharter family emigrated to the US).
